Yellow vests demonstrators gather in Paris for 38th consecutive week of protests

Tens of thousands of people have marched every Saturday through the streets of France, since the movement began last November. The protesters have voiced various concerns ranging from taxes on fuel to income inequality.

The “Yellow Vests” demonstrators are taking to streets of Paris to protest against the French government’s policies on Saturday, 3 August. This marks the 38th straight week of Yellow Vests protests since November.

According to official statistics, over 23,000 joined in protests across the country last weekend.

The wave of Yellow Vests rallies started in France in mid-November over planned hikes in fuel taxes. While the French government has abandoned its plans to raise fuel taxes and introduced other measures to improve the country’s socioeconomic situation, protesters continue to take to the streets across France every weekend for demonstrations to express their discontent with the government’s policies.
