Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe held bilateral meeting on Thursday, on the sidelines of the G20 summit due to take place until Saturday. As media reports, the two leaders discussed various topics of “mutual interest,” touching upon many aspects of the bilateral relations. Modi is reported to have said that the Osaka Summit will be an important stepping stone for India hosting the G20 summit in 2022 on the 75th anniversary of independence. Leaders of 19 of the most influential countries in the world and the European Union will meet in Osaka on Friday and Saturday for the 14th G20 summit to discuss climate change, free trade, and economic inequalities among other issues.
