France: Yellow Vests start fires and clash with police near Nantes

Clashes broke out between protesters and police at the Yellow Vests 25th outing after some protesters started fires in La Roche-sur-Yon, near Nantes in western France on Saturday.

An estimated 500 to 700 Yellow Vests showed up for the demonstration. Footage shows some of them throwing plastic roadblocks in fires, toppling fences and dumpsters and throwing rocks, while a large police presence used tear gas against the protesters.

Tens of thousands have marched in the streets of France every Saturday since November 2018 for a variety of grievances ranging from taxes on fuel to income inequality.
