US President Donald Trump spoke at length about his proposed southern border wall, at the White House on Friday.
Trump likened the current situation to an “invasion” which has led to a “human trafficking and humanitarian crisis”.
Commenting on sections of the border wall which are under construction, the US president said that a long stretch had close to being completed in the San Diego area.
He also added that “even people from Venezuela want to come through” which was a sign of the US economy’s success.
Trump also lashed out at Democrats, saying that they were against “border security”.
“When I hear them talking about the fact that walls are immoral and walls don’t work, they know they work,” he told reporters.
