The Greek police fired tear gas, used flash-noise grenades against teachers protesting against the planned law on new rules of employment, while a Communist party member and head of the teachers’ union were injured during clashes with the police.

Last Friday, about 2,000 people organized a rally in the center of Athens to urge the government to reject the bill of the Ministry of Education, which provides for changes in the rules of hiring specialists in the field of education.

A new rally of teachers is scheduled for Monday. This was reported by representatives of the Union of Secondary and Higher Education.
