Rio de Janeiro residents comforted each other in front of what remained of the 200-year old National Museum of Brazil on Monday, one day after it was engulfed in a fire that left 20 million artifacts destroyed or damaged.
“The loss of the museum is an inestimable loss. (Inaudible) has been lost forever, by chance. A deplorable loss. I don’t have much more to say besides from this.”
