Crimea and the city of Sevastopol have been fully integrated into Russia’s legal and cultural space, Speaker of Russia’s Federation Council (upper house of parliament) Valentina Matviyenko said on Saturday.

“I believe that today Crimea and Sevastopol have integrated into [Russia’s] legal, economic, humanitarian and cultural space and are full-fledged constituent entities,” Matviyenko told reporters in Sevastopol where she visited the Opera in Chersonesos international music festival.

According to the speaker, outstanding actors studied in Crimea and excellent movies had been shot there. “It is important not only to preserve the cultural heritage but also add something new to it,” Matviyenko added.
