Gunmen opened fire and are holding several people hostage at a shopping mall in France’s Carcassonne on Friday, The Independent reported. Another shooting incident was reported in another part of south France. A police personnel sustained injuries in the second attack.
Prosecutors said one of the gunman at the pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State group, AFP reported.
Security officials are investigating if they are connected.
