The United States refused to send flight instructors to Turkey to conduct flight training for the F-16, reports Hurriyet.

The Turkish army suffered from a shortage of experienced pilots, many of whom were fired after the events of July 2016, when, according to Ankara’s official position, the army was unable to carry out a coup attempt, as a result of which many soldiers and officers, including the Fighters, were fired.

According to the Pentagon, “there is no program for training pilots abroad,” but Turkish aviators can obtain the necessary knowledge and skills in the United States. Ankara continues to insist that training takes place in local weather.
