The Syrian Army troops and the Lebanese Hezbollah combatants restored security to Lebanon’s Eastern border with Syria after 10 days of anti-ISIL operation, military sources confirmed on Monday.

The sources said that the Hezbollah fighters imposed control over 20sq/km of Lebanon’s territories where ISIL has buried bodies of anti-terrorism forces.

They further said that the Syrian Army and Hezbollah managed to restore full security to the 195km long Eastern border of Lebanon with Syria from al-Zabadani and Sarqaya regions in the South to al-Fafil region and later Qareh and al-Barij to al-Qasir region in the North in 10 days of their joint anti-ISIL operation.

The sources confirmed that all the gunmen of ISIL are to leave al-Qareh region for Eastern Badiyeh (desert) along with their family members to be later relocated to the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.

According to reports, over 200 ISIL members, including senior emirs and field commanders, have surrendered to the Syrian Army and Hezbollah after the terrorist group suffered heavy defeats in Western Qalamoun region in recent days.  

The Syrian government announced on Sunday that it allowed evacuation of ISIL gunmen from bordering heights with Lebanon to the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur.

The Syrian state TV announced that Damascus allowed ISIL gunmen to leave the heights in the Western Qalamoun region at border with Lebanon for Deir Ezzur province after the army and the Lebanese Hezbollah declared ceasefire with ISIL in Western Qalamoun this morning.

The ISIL terrorists have been under siege of the army and Hezbollah in Western Qalamoun.
