Russia’s FSB Detains Two Arms Dealers in Central, Ural Federal Districts

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained two members of a criminal group that illegally produced and sold arms in the Central and Ural Federal Districts, FSB said on Thursday in a statement.

FSB searches yielded 22 samples of Russian and foreign firearms, over 150 munitions of various calibers, a number of parts for weapons, as well as equipment for manufacturing arms and ammunition. All items were seized by the security service.

“Activities of the international criminal group, which organized clandestine manufacturing and distribution of firearms in the Central and Ural Federal Districts, was stopped… Two active members of the group were detained while they were attempting to sell firearms,” the statement said.

The FSB has opened a criminal case against members of the group.
