Head of the European Council Donald Tusk arrived in the Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw for questioning on the case of violations during the autopsy of the Smolensk disaster victims, PAP agency reports.
Tusk will be questioned as a witness.
At the building of the National Prosecutor’s Office the ex-premier was met by a group of his supporters who chanted the name of Tusk, and also brought a banner with the words “Welcome to the President of Europe.” Among the supporters of the head of the European Council, who were present at the prosecutor’s office, were representatives of the country’s largest opposition party Civic Platform, co-founder of which was Tusk.
The head of the European Council was interrogated on April 19 in the prosecutor’s office, then the interrogation was about eight hours. The case concerned the cooperation of the military counterintelligence of Poland with the FSB. In April, the prosecutor’s office again summoned Tusk to appear for questioning on July 5 as a witness in the case of violations in identifying the remains of the Smolensk disaster victims, but he did not show up, referring to his employment.
