At least 24 militants affiliated with Taliban and Daesh terrorist groups, both of which outlawed in Russia, have been killed in airstrikes and ground operations in Afghanistan’s eastern Kunar province, local media reported Thursday citing the Afghan National Army (ANA).
According to the Khaama Press news agency, at least 15 Taliban insurgents were killed on Tuesday in the Asmar and Shigal districts, while nine Daesh militants were killed in separate operations and airstrikes.
Kunar is among the most unstable provinces in Afghanistan because of the insurgents who are actively operating in the area.
Afghanistan has long been suffering from turbulent political, social and security situation due to the activity of Daesh terrorists and the Taliban. The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are currently conducting joint offensive operations to combat terrorism across the country.
