Serbian President Alexandar Vučić stated that Serbia is in favor of maintaining military neutrality, and will not abandon its traditional allies.
“Our country will not give up its traditional allies under pressure, which we base not only on the love of writers and artists, but also on economic development and bilateral cooperation in the future,” Vučić said.
Earlier the new Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, in an interview with Bloomberg stated that Serbia and Russia have traditionally been associated with friendly relations, but if they have to choose, Serbia will choose the EU. This caused wide discussion among the Serbian public.
Ana later reported that her words were misinterpreted by the agency, and she provided the Russian ambassador to Serbia with a transcript of her interview.
