US Senate again deferred a decision on ratification of the protocol on the accession of Montenegro into NATO. The document has been put forward for discussion and voting, but wasn’t accepted, for the fourth time in a row.

Apparently, the US Senate has no agreement about the fact whether to accept the small Balkan country into NATO or not, reports a local portal IN4S.

In May 2016, Montenegro’s authorities signed a protocol on accession to NATO, which now must be ratified by all member countries of the Alliance. US Senators under Obama Administration could not accept the document.

It’s worth noting that during the election campaign, the new President of the United States Donald Trump spoke out against Montenegro’s accession into NATO.
