A group of students from Ukraine studying in the local college were beaten up in the Polish city of Rzeszow. According to the police, the incident occured on January 21.
The statement says that students were coming back to dormitory when they were stopped by the group of men. When knew where the students were from, the men asked whether Lvov is Polish or Ukrainian. Then the attackers called the students “Banderists” and beaten them up.
Later the police detained five suspects, they were locals aged between 18 and 20 years. All the detainees have pleaded guilty. The attackers could face up to five years in prison for beating up on a national basis. Currently the Poles are released under police supervision.
