Vadim Krasnoselsky, the chairman of the Supreme Council of Transnistria, won the presidential elections in the unrecognized republic with 62 percent of votes, the electoral commission said Monday.




The elections in the region, also known as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), took place Sunday.


The electoral commission said that the acting president of Transnistria, Yevgeny Shevchuk, got 28 percent, the electoral commission told RIA Novosti.
