Russia is prepared to develop relations with the new US administration, President Vladimir Putin said in his state-of-the-nation address to the Federal Assembly on Thursday.
“We are ready for cooperation with the new US administration,” the Russian president said. “It is important to normalize and start developing bilateral relations on an equal and mutually beneficial basis,” Putin stressed.
The cooperation of Russia and the US in solving global and regional issues meets interests of the whole world, Putin said. “We have common responsibility for ensuring international security and stability and strengthening the non-proliferation regimes.”
Billionaire Donald Trump, who was elected the 45th US president on November 8, is due to be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
