Moscow hopes that work with the US on Ukraine will continue, told Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin.

“The US is involved in this process. We have an appropriate format of Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov and Victoria Nuland,” Karasin said. “I believe this format is working properly, effectively, but to the extent allowed by Kiev’s irresponsible policy.”

“Probably, this work will continue, we hope so and continue working in this format,” he added.

According to Karasin, the most important thing is to make sure that “decisions are made in Kiev.” “Should the ‘Normandy format’ [involves Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine – TASS] incorporate the US is a matter of theory,” he noted.

During the contacts, Moscow will prove that Kiev has major commitments under Minsk-2, Karasin said. “Russia is not a party to the conflict. The conflict is taking place on Ukraine’s territory. We proceed from this assumption and hope that the parties – Kiev, Donetsk and Lugansk – will be able to make some relevant decisions.”.
