It is too early to say who is responsible for the attack on the old website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Monday.
“There has been an attempt to create a fake of the Foreign Ministry’s old website page. Specialists will now look into who did that and what for. True, this theme is much in the news. The issue of hacker attacks was very politicized of late. The technologies we have are advanced enough to maintain reliable operation of the Foreign Ministry’s website,” he said. “But it is too early to say who is responsible.”
The CNN television network on October 22 said that a US hacker had attacked the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website. Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova later said that the page attacked was an old one and no longer in use. Experts were trying to figure out what had happened in reality, she added.
