Besides the fateful parliamentary elections in Montenegro, in the cities of Budva, Kotor, Gusinje and Andrijevica ballots to the local authorities also took place on the eve. PM Djukanovic’s Democratic Party of Socialists has failed to form a majority at least in two of them. 


The opposition parties in Budva won 18 seats out of 33. In Kotor the DPS outvoted, however got only 12 seats out of 33 and to form a majority in the local parliament, it will have to negotiate with the minority parties, which have 4 mandates in total.


According to the preliminary data after the parliamentary elections, Djukanovic’s party has 35 seats out of 81, while the majority – 41 were taken by the opposition parties.
