Leaders of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kiev Patriarchate have declared the inadmissibility of insulting statements among representatives of the Catholic Church against the Ukrainian people.
This statement was made by the deputy head of the Synodal Department for Social Service of the UOC-KP Sergey Dmitriev, reacting to harsh statements made by the permanent representative of the Pope in Ukraine Claudio Gugerotti that Ukraine is in full decline across the board.
“To look at the situation from above is unacceptable. It’s insulting”, said Dmitriev.
The representative of the UOC KP emphasized that the imposition of a negative assessment of what is happening in Ukraine is prohibitively both for foreign and Ukrainian Catholics.
“It’s like someone is watching over someone’s misfortune thousands of kilometers away and say how to act”, concluded the priest.
