The presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have discussed development of Russian-Turkish cooperation and the situation in Syria by telephone, the Kremlin press service said.

“Special attention was paid to the situation in Syria. It was agreed to continue active contacts through various channels with an aim to coordinate efforts, which could contribute to the Syrian settlement,” the Kremlin stressed.

 

The telephone conversation took place at the Turkish side’s request.
