Russia will not respond to a possible refusal of foreign parliaments to acknowledge the results of the upcoming elections in Crimea, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

Peskov commented on the latest call of Ukraine’s MPs to the foreign parliaments not to recognize the results of elections to the Russian State Duma, the lower house of parliament, on the territory of Crimea due on September 18.

“In this case the decision won’t have any role and won’t be perceived by Moscow as Crimea is the territory of Russia,” Peskov said. “We won’t able to recognize or take into account this decision,” he added.
