Another extension of Washington’s sanctions against Russia is in discord with the issues of the possible interaction discussed by Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama in China on the sidelines of the G20 summit, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
“This is seriously dissonant with the issues relating to possible cooperation in the sensitive areas discussed at the two presidents’ meeting (in China’s Hangzhou),” Peskov said commenting on the expanded list of Russian companies sanctioned by the US that appeared the day before.
The Kremlin spokesman recalled that Russia intended to adhere to the principle of reciprocity in the sanctions issue. “The new list will be analyzed. Once again, this by no means contributes to the development of our relations. It is regrettable that the meeting between the two presidents that took place on the sidelines of the G20 summit was marred by such additional steps to expand the sanctions,” he added.
