Russian President Vladimir Putin has called statements on Russia is supposedly going to conflict with NATO and use of nuclear weapons against its neighbors, in particular the Baltic states, as delusional.

“Listen, I think that all sensible people, who are really involved in politics, understood that references to the threat posed by Russia in relation to, for example, the Baltic countries are the complete nonsense”, Putin said in an interview with Bloomberg.

Russia hopes to further promote its influence in the world, but only via peaceful means.

“Are we going to fight NATO or what? How many people live in NATO states? About 600 million, yes? And in Russia – 146 million. Yes, we are the largest nuclear power. But are you really suggesting that we are going to conquer the Baltic States using nuclear weapons, or what? What a nonsense”, Putin said.
