Russian President Vladimir Putin may meet with Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer in October 2016, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
“We are talking about October, if I am not mistaken. I can say that we really maintain rather kind and constructive relations with Bavarian leadership. That’s why contacts are planned in the future,” Peskov said.
“The visit (to Moscow) is planned for the start of October, a possible meeting with Putin is being discussed,” a spokesman for the Bavarian government told TASS earlier today in Berlin.
Seehofer already met with Putin in Moscow in February 2016.
The Bavarian prime minister came to Moscow then against the backdrop of migration crisis in Germany and serious disagreements with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on refugees. Seehofer’s visit to Russia was sharply criticized by German politicians who said he “carried out parallel foreign policy.”
