Austrian police say they have found 17 migrants in a van entering the country from Hungary.
Police in Burgenland province said the Romanian-registered vehicle was stopped early Sunday for a routine border check on the A4 highway at Nickelsdorf, southeast of Vienna.
Officers found 11 men and six women in the vehicle. Seven of them came from Iraq, seven from Afghanistan, two from Syria and one from Pakistan. They were taken to a police facility in Eisenstadt.
The driver, a 30-year-old Romanian man, was arrested on suspicion of people smuggling.
