As of the present moment, the issue of extending economic sanctions is not on the agenda of the European Union summit due on June 28-29, sources from the press service of the Council of the European Union told TASS on Thursday.

The sources did not rule out, however, that the issue could be put on the summit agenda in the future if there was a need.

The summit plans to discuss the migration crisis, results of the UK’s EU referendum, problems of economic growth and employment, as well as the development of cooperation between the EU and NATO.

The latest extension of EU sanctions came in January 2016, with sanctions extended until July 31, 2016.
