The results of the “Barometer of Public Opinion” survey show that Moldovans respect Russian president more than their own.

Approximately 62% of the respondents give the greatest faith to the Russian leader. The second place in the ranking with a score of 33.5% takes the head of the Romania Klaus Iohannis. Top three closed by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, gaining 29.5%. Barack Obama lags behind her by 4.3%.

Next on the list goes the President of France Francois Hollande (19.2%), followed by the British Prime Minister David Cameron (18.2%).

As for the head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, he is respected by 10.7% of Moldova citizens.

The interesting fact is that the president Nicolae Timofti has less than 5% of trust, the chairman of Parliament Andrian Candu – no more than 10%, and the prime minister Paul Philip – about 15%.

The poll “Public Opinion Barometer” was held from April 16 to 23, 2016. It was attended by 1143 citizens of Moldova over 18 years old living in 86 settlements of the republic.
