The political crisis in Ukraine could have impact on the Dutch views during the referendum, said the head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski. Though the current political instability is not related to the agreement on association between Ukraine and the EU.
The diplomat has also stressed that the responsibility for the results of the referendum in the Netherlands lies on the shoulders of the Ukrainian authorities. According to Tombinski, the latter are necessary to find a way out of the political crisis as soon as possible, given that the current situation is clearly “not showing the best image of Ukraine, and it is also necessary to remember”.
The referendum in the Netherlands on an association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union will be held on April 6 and will be consultative.
