Mark Rutte: Ukraine has no place in the EU

Ukraine should never join the European Union. This statement was made by the Dutch PM Mark Rutte.

“Ukraine should have good relations both with Europe and Russia. It won’t be possible if Ukraine will become an EU member”, quotes Rutte’s words

During a speech, Dutch PM held an excursion into history, recalling the Kievan Rus.

Earlier Rutte said that the agreement between the EU and Ukraine on the association and free trade zone is not preceded by its entry into the European Union.

In turn, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker in early March said that Ukraine will not be able to join the EU and NATO in the next 20-25 years.
