Ukrainian nationals made up nearly half of the applicants for asylum in Estonia in 2015, it appears from figures released by Eurostat, cites LETA/BNS.


According to Eurostat’s data, out of 225 asylum applications received in Estonia last year 95 were submitted by Ukrainian nationals, accounting for 42% of all applications.


Fifteen applications were lodged by citizens of both Iraq and Syria, making up 7% of the total number.
