Around 200 people gathered in front of the White House in Washington D.C., Sunday, to protest against Turkey’s alleged targetting and killing of Kurdish people.

Turkish security forces have undertaken a large-scale security operation in south-eastern Turkey, which began on December 14 and has involved the imposition of curfews, aerial bombing, and mass detention in areas of unrest. Turkey claims it has killed at least 173 members of the outlawed Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) since July, but human rights groups claim at least 100 civilians have died in the fighting during the same period.
