Ukrainian forces shelled a school in the village of Zaitsevo (to the north of Gorlovka) during the classes there, the school director Yelena Kazakova told the Donetsk News Agency.

“This is the first shelling over a long time that occurred during daytime – at around 09:20. Classes were underway at the time of the shelling. 33 students and 29 employees were in the building. We had established maximally safe timeframe for classes, but, as you can see, it did not save us this time. Students and teachers were evacuated after the shelling. Many children have been already taken home by their parents. To date, there are 109 students at our school, but they attend lessons depending on the military situation,” – Yelena Kazakova said.

According to the DPR Defense Ministry, the shelling of the school was conducted with 82-mm mortars.

Representatives of the OSCE mission and the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of ceasefire issues have arrived to the scene.
