The Russian humanitarian convoy has fully provided the Donetsk People’s Republic with polio vaccine, the DPR Minister of Health Viktor Kuchkovoy said at a briefing today.

“We were earlier provided with polio vaccine to conduct the first stage of immunization of children against polio. Today, the humanitarian convoy has brought the required amount of vaccine for the second and the third stages. Therefore, there is no shortage of vaccine in the Donetsk People’s Republic now. The received vaccine has a high quality and was produced in Russia and Belgium,” – Viktor Kuchkovoy said.

This is in response to an outbreak of this dangerous infectious disease in Ukraine in September 2015. In early September, doctors diagnosed polio in two children, one 10-months-old, and the other four-years-old, in Transcarpathian region. Neither child had a vaccination.
