According to SANA’s report, while combing Aleppo’s eastern neighborhoods, “an army unit discovered chemical materials of a Saudi source in a depot in Old Aleppo,” including sulfur and chlorine. It noted that these “chemical substances were used by the terrorists in manufacturing explosives for the purpose of targeting residential areas in Aleppo.”

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, earlier said that terrorists used chemical weapons in eastern Aleppo on November 13, adding that about 30 Syrian soldiers were injured in the attack.

The news agency noted that on October 31, 2016, terrorists fired shells containing chlorine at the al-Hamdaniya neighborhood in the south of the city. The attack left 48 people injured. On November 3, 2016, the Minyan district was attacked, with eight people affected.
